BASIC TACTICAL RAPPELLING FOR POLICE

The Basic Tactical Rappelling course is intended for Law Enforcement Special Weapons and Tactics personnel who may be required to deploy into areas where other means of access may be too timely, too dangerous, or simply to difficult. This program is designed for the novice who has never rappelled. In this course, the participant will learn about the types of rappel ropes used, how to properly maintain ropes and equipment, how to tie specific knots for rappelling operations, and the use of descenders and carabiners. At the conclusion of the training program, participants will be able to safely make a controlled vertical descent and perform specified tactical maneuvers.
