PRESENTING INTERNET SAFETY PROGRAMS TO TEENAGERS

This one day program is designed to provide School Resource Officers and Educators, the tools and techniques necessary to present a block of instruction on Internet Safety to 7th and 8th grade students. Participants will learn to prepare and deliver a block of instruction encompassing four primary areas:

  1. How to constructively use the Internet for school work and studies.
  2. How to avoid problems on the "Net".
  3. What to expect in the way of consequences of doing something wrong.
  4. Avoid being a victim and what to do in the event you become one.

Participants will be provided with an Internet Safety Presentation through PowerPoint on CD-Rom, a lesson plan, handout material, and other useful information, enough to present an educational program designed for middle school students.

Note: This is an interactive training program, please be prepared to take notes and participate. Participants are welcome to bring their own laptops.
