INTERNAL AFFAIRS SEMINAR

This one day course is designed for the police officer assigned as the Internal Affairs Officer as well as police executives and superior officers. The course will provide an overview of the Attorney General's Police Management Manual, Chapter 5 guidelines on Internal Affairs Policy and Procedures and Morris County Prosecutor's Office Directives concerning the internal affairs function.

Specific topics to be addressed include: The investigative process; the Garrity Ruling; Interview of witness and subject officers; Criminal and Administrative Violations; Case Law Updates and Domestic Violence incident involving police personnel.

Legal staff will provide answers to issues that confront the Internal Affairs Officer and executive officer.
