INTERVIEW AND INTERROGATION
This course is designed for the Detective, Prosecutor's Investigator or Police Officer in how to conduct effective interviews and interrogations. An overview of the types of interview methods and the various methods of detecting deception will be discussed, including non-verbal behavior and body language. How law enforcement can effectively use the polygraph in criminal investigations will be covered, in what cases it can be used, when the polygraph should be used, and what type of subjects are not candidates for the polygraph. The documentation of interviews and statements through video, audio and paper documentation will be addressed. Following completion of this course, the officer will have a basic understanding of the various methods of detecting deception, understanding human behavior and how to conduct effective interviews and interrogations with the goals of obtaining truthful information.
