FIRST RESPONDER REFRESHER

This three day course provides a basic overview based on a National Standard Curriculum. It covers the various aspects of emergency medical care. Topics include:

• The roles and responsibility of the first responder.
• Well-Being of the First Responder, stress management, scene safety, PPE.
• Legal and ethical issues- negligence, duty to act, confidentiality, and crime scenes.
• Lifting and moving patients- carrying techniques, principals of moving patients.
• Airway- how to maintain open airway, use of airways, suction equipment.
• Patient assessment.
• Bleeding and soft tissue injuries.
• Childbirth, Infant & children medical situations.
