- POLICE CARBINE INSTRUCTOR
COURSE
Pre-requisite: All attendees must be qualified firearm instructors and successfully completed a state approved firearm instructor course. Proof of same must
accompany Academy registration.
This three (3) day course is for current firearm instructors who
would like to become Police Carbine Instructors. This course
will include Operational Safety and the Police Carbine, policy
development on patrol weapon supplements, carbine shooting
techniques, carbine nomenclature and live fire drills. The
course will conclude with qualification runs of the state
approved Carbine Qualification Course.
Required Equipment and
Dress
- Carbine Rifle - By definition of the State, a rifle that
fires a handgun round
- At least 3 magazines
- Carine Rifle User Manual
- 800 Rounds of ball ammunition
- 400 Rounds of duty ammunition
- Department issued sling if used
- Cleaning Equipment
- Eye and Ear Protection
- A baseball style hat
- Note taking instruments
- Department's Carbine Policy
- Duty handgun and related gear
- 50 Rounds ball ammunition for handgun
- Knee and elbow protection optional
