BASIC CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION FOR DETECTIVES
This five-day course is designed to provide a detective or officer with the information and skills necessary to process a crime scene on their own. Topics will include legal aspects of evidence, crime scene search and security, photography, establishing a crime scene kit, evidence processing, and blood pattern interpretation, etc. Practical exercises will be implemented to reinforce the classroom instruction. Students should bring 35mm cameras and latent dusting kits if they are available. Limited cameras and dusting equipment will be made available to students who cannot bring their department's.
Note: Participants are urged to bring a 35 mm camera and fingerprint dusting equipment.
