PUMP OPERATIONS - ADVANCED

This course is designed to give the student the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the operation of a centrifugal fire pump. Students will learn to supply and apply water from various sources, in various capacities, and in various operations, through practical activities to the satisfaction of the instructor by completion of required skills.

Each student will be required to supply a fully equipped pumper capable of operating in draft; an apparatus pump will be operated (not driven) by each class member under the direct supervision of an academy instructor. Departments, companies, Fire Districts are encouraged to enroll multiple members but shall be limited to four students per class.

Class size: Maximum 24 students
