- FIRE FIGHTER 3

Fire Fighter 3 is the third level of a progression which included Fire Fighter 1 and Fire Fighter 2. The course material will be covered by successfully completing core and elective courses. Students will be given two years to complete all course work.
The following core courses will be required:
- Fire Fighter 2
- Pump Operations - 12 Hours
- Truck Operations - 12 Hours
- Fire Foams - 12 Hours
- Incident Command System I-200 - 12 Hours
- Incident Command System I-300 - 24 Hours
In addition, any two of the following elective courses will
be required:
- Driving Simulator - 8 Hours
- Building Construction for the Fire Service - 3 Hours
- Firefighter Safety & Survival - 8 Hours
- Rappelling - 8 Hours
- Strategy & Tactics - 8 Hours
Also required will be one course from the "Courses of
Interest to the Fire Service" sponsored by the NJ Division
of Fire Safety. These courses can be found in the spring and fall
"Fire Service Curriculum" brochures mailed to every Fire
Company.
Fire Science courses attended at an accredited school will be evaluated on a case by case basis for this certification.
Upon completion of the above requirements, the student may request
that a Fire Fighter 3 certificate be issued. Requests shall be
submitted on a form supplied by the Academy along with copies of all
required course certificates.
